The Anaula Nature Resort is situated on the banks of a beautiful island in the Upper Suriname River, near the Ferulassi falls. The virgin Amazon rainforest, turbulent rapids, wonderful wildlife, idyllic islands and the fascinating Maroon culture, will make you feel unreal.

DAY PROGRAM

U can choose transport by bus or airplane

Day 1:
By bus:
Today we start our natural and cultural experience and go south from Paramaribo. In Paranam the asphalt road changes into a bauxite road. Along the way we pass impressive giant trees and villages located on this road. After about 190 km we arrive at Atjoni, where an exciting canoe trip starts. We sail about 45 minutes by motorized canoe to the comfortable Anaula Nature Resort, situated at the foot of the Felullasi falls, where you will be staying. During this canoe trip we come across breathtaking nature and several Maroon villages. We pass the turbulent Jaw Jaw rapids as well.

By Airplane: 
Departure at ± 13.00 hours with Blue Wing Airlines, Zorg en Hoop airport to Laduani. Estimated check in time 12.15 - 12.30 hrs. The flight to Laduani is approximately 1 hour. Laduani is 10 minutes by boat from the Anaula Nature Resort.

After check-in, you have the opportunity to explore the resort, after which lunch will be served buffet style. After lunch we sail by canoe to a nearby swim location in the Ferullasi rapids or to a beautiful sandy beach, where we can relax, swim and enjoy a natural jacuzzi bath. After dinner, our guide will give some information about the area and explain the Saramaccan culture. After this we can start exciting adventure in search of crocodiles. You can also enjoy the beautiful starry sky and the total silence of the Amazon rainforest.

Day 2: 
After breakfast you have opportunity to fish, swim or just layn along the river in a hammock to enjoy the scenery and the beautiful views of the island. After lunch we sail by canoe to the village Nieuw Aurora for a village walk. During the tour of the village you will meet with the local people, their unique lifestyle and their traditional customs and habits. We pay a visit to a mission with a church, a school and a medical post. In the evening a delicious BBQ. After the BBQ one can enjoy traditional and cultural dances. Traditional dances such as the Seketi, Awasa and Bandamba will be carried out for us. Our guide will be explaining the content and meaning of these dances.


Note: the cultural dance is only offered for a minimum of 8 guests. 

Day 3 
This morning is free for your own activities. You can paddle or kayak, swim, go for a walk, relax at the pool or in a hammock, or relax and enjoy nature. If required you can participate in excursions such as a walk in the woods or an intensive visit to the plots of the local residents.


By bus: 
After lunch we return to Atjoni, from where we leave by bus to Paramaribo.

By plane: 
After lunch we leave for Laduani, where we fly back to Paramaribo.

Travel tips:
Due to physical exertion during this trip, you must have a good physical condition to participate.

Accommodation:
2 nights in lodges with eco-poster beds and mosquito nets, private shower and toilet. Limited electricity (from 18.00 hours-23.00 hours) and no air conditioning. Available are sockets for recharging electric equipment (110 volt-60 Hz)

Tips to guide or driver;
Accident and travel insurance.

What to bring to the interior;
For multi-day tours you will need the following:
Flashlight and spare batteries;
A hat (hat);
Long pants and a shirt with long sleeves for sunburn, and in the evening against mosquitoes;
Photo, film and / or video equipment;
Enough film and batteries
An anti-malaria treatment ( advise with your doctor);
Toiletries;
Light clothes;
Towels Swimwear;
Raincoat;
Water shoes and sneakers;
Insect repellent;
Sunscreen;
Binoculars;

Note:
It is advisable to carry a suitcase into the interior. For canoe trips, water shoes or slippers are most useful, while for the trips in the woods sneakers or good walking shoes are recommended.
