DAYPROGRAM

Dayprogram - 7 nights Kasikasima jungle tour

Day 1
You depart from the local airport Zorg and Hope to the airstrip at the Indian village Palumeu, about 75 minutes flying time south of Paramaribo. The principles of eco-METS you will quickly recognize: the staff are helpful and Wajana Trio Indians, you live without air conditioning or fan (not needed because of the cool evenings) and at night there is ambient lighting powered by solar energy. The meals are prepared using mainly local ingredients.

Our staff will welcome you at the resort, a stone's throw from the village Palumeu Trio and Wajana where Indians live.
After you checked in your guesthouse you leave Palawa island for a picnic lunch. You can also swim in the cool river water.
In the afternoon you visit the Indian village Palumeu. The oldest inhabitants of the Amazon forest in their lifestyle and crafts ancient traditions are preserved here.
In the evening our guide will prepare you for the expedition. You get tips on safety, comfort and respectful use of this piece of pristine jungle.

Day 2
The team spirit is created when you first see how everyone helps with the loading of the canoe. Nothing should be forgotten. Everyone will have to work together. You live a few days without the luxury you're probably used to, just in the simplicity of the jungle, and no telephone or radio contact with the rest of the world, like a true explorer.
A canoe takes you on Tapanahony River and Palumeurivier Kamakabari to the camp. This cruise lasts, depending on the water, 3 to 7 hours. In the camp the cook prepares a tasty lunch. Meanwhile you build a hammock camp. The guide explains how the hammocks and mosquito nets go up, how you can sleep comfortably in a hammock and how it is regulated for sanitation in the jungle.
In the late afternoon, when the cook is busy again with dinner, you have time for a swim, your back massaged by the water in the rapids (as the water level permitting) or fishing.

Day 3
After the first jungle night and breakfast , we chill out in the camp together again. Everything goes along in the boat to the next destination, the base camp Kasikasima Sawaniboto to the waterfall.
The boatmen have their canoe through several rapids pilots. At low tide, they will ask a canoe over shallows to be brought out. Momentum can not be crossed: the Trombakasula. Here the boat unloaded. All items must be transported on foot a hill. And this is true: many hands make light work. If you once more back-and-running again is that once a good preparation for the trip to the Kasikasima. Upstream lies the canoe ready bootslui which bring you to the base camp. As you arrive late in the afternoon.
If you can hang the hammocks back just relax. After dinner the guide tells you about the highlight of this expedition: a climb to the tops of the Kasikasimagebergte.

Day 4
After a solid jungle trek over several small hills to reach the foot of the Kasikasimagebergte. Along the way you learn more about the flora and fauna of the tropical rainforest .. Your guide will point you to sounds and tracks and talk about the mythical force natives to assign these mountains.
With a little luck you will see at the foot of the mountain the rock cock, a rare orange bird.Did you climb the granite rock, then you are rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view over the "roof" of the jungle. On a clear day you can see the border with Brazil. On the platform, use the lunch, surrounded by tropical plants, rock.
Who gets up must come back, and the descent is equally adventurous. If you then return to the base camp it's time for a well-deserved, relaxing massage in the cool waters of the rapids. The cook makes now a good meal. Later, when the weather at a campfire, there is a lot to tell.

Day 5
Early morning departure for a walk in the forest to the waterfalls Kodebaku. Along your guide tells you all know about the flora and fauna of the tropical rainforest. In Kodebaku waterfalls, enjoy the water show. Back at base camp there is a lunch. You then have time to yourself. You may want the boat traveling men go fishing, or just sit quietly enjoy this piece of pristine Amazon rainforest.
After dinner you make an overnight trip on the river, to enjoy the nocturnal jungle sounds.

Day 7
These days you can spend at their discretion. If there are more lovers can still walk through. You can just enjoy doing nothing, a little swimming, a game of volleyball or football or the local residents practicing archery, canoeing, or fishing. Would you like to do something special, like an agricultural plot or visit them go fishing, you can. Your guide can tell you if there are extra charges. After dinner, take leave of the cook and boatmen.
